No sooner had we arrived in Paris than we were accosted by the ubiquitous accordion toting tube surfers.

Bienvenue chez cliché!

Brian and I are very excited about our trip.  We hope to meet lots of interesting people and really get a feel for what's happening in the short film world.

We'll keep you posted with our progress.  I'm now going to spend the 3½ hour train journey to Clermont-Ferrand watching short films and updating my directors notes.

ADDENDUM:
For those who are unaware of directors notes they are exactly as they sound, a statement of intent from the director as to how they intend to treat the script so everything from design and performance to music and edit.  The more successful you get the less you have to make things clear beforehand, so far as I'm aware.  I'm afraid I won't be publishing my notes as these things are wont to change and I don't want to nail my colours to the mast too soon.

LOL! Leave it to you to be serenaded by accordions...goofily fits somehow, and I dont suppose you are considering them for your musical track then eh? :) I am always fascinated by the random tube surfers/subway musicians anyway, although I was sorely disappointed in my train ride in from Heathrow to London this past summer as we did not get music but rather a rancid smelling lunatic who raged at us 45 minutes, (he did quote Shakespeare so I guess that is a bonus!)

Dude, you look like the Scottish Brad Pitt there all handsome and fine in the beard, and I enjoyed these videos. While reading the directors notes would have been an interesting insight and am hopeful you will be detailing more exactly on how the process of honing your film and landing the funding works a bit more in depth, as long as you keep posting these videoblogues then Im happy for now.

Hi Colin,

It's Anna from the Foe days. OK - that last comment went through? In case you get any complaints from others trying to comment who had accounts from the FOE days - the only solution I found was to set up a new account. What would happen is I would click on comment & would be told I was registered & it would recognize my url. Then after writing my comment & hitting post - it would tell me I was not registered. Very frustrating.

But I have stubbornly persevered! Feel privileged!!!!!

But seriously - great new blog - very glad you are blogging your film.
Best of luck to you & thanks for sharing the ride with us once again.

Anna
