We are following in the footsteps of our friends and mentors here.
At the time I started working in the film industry David Mackenzie and Gillian Berrie were embarking on a short film that Gillian had written - Somersault. David and I subsequently ended up working in the same edit facility and that's how we got to know each other. Anyway, they went to Clermont-Ferrand with Somersault and it did very well. The film won a certificate for Masterful Editing if I remember correctly. We have big shoes to fill.

Great to see you are still looking in every now then. The trip ahead is fantastically exciting, I can''t wait to meet lots of like-minded people all making short films. I foresee long nights sitting in cafes discussing the merits of certain tricks and techniques and hopefully meeting some people who light be interested in funding our little film.
I'll be posting while I'm there, although in my experience posting at festivals is quite tricky for a number of reasons. But I'll be armed with my digital camera and my computer so there will definitely be something to upload to my Fickr account over the coming week.

Thanks for the background on how you met David and Gillian! They had (have) a good reputation for their short films, so here's hoping that trend will continue with you and Luci! I seriously wish you the best with this adventure and am looking forward to those photos too!
