Only 766 Miles to go...
The most troublesome and exciting thing about blogging is just how reactionary you can be with it. I mean you can take a photo and have it uploaded within minutes. Hopefully I'll be bringing some of that to our blog.
In the main everything will be going here. With the best bits finely honed and delivered here at getyourpeople.
I'll also have a video channel running here. Viddler is just like YouTube except I'll be able to tag moments and people in the video, it's a little like a DVD commentary apart from you won't be able to hear me drone on. Let's hope the broadband connection at the top of Motovun is ready for team Hallam.

More here.
So where are we heading? The Motovun Film Festival. I first came here a few years ago with a film called Guy X when i was working at another production company F&ME. Mike Downey is the festival's Council of Advisors President, a man i used to work for and a throughly likable chap, therefore me and Colin hope we may get a lot of favours in meeting and bringing to you, lots of faces from the festival.
In the meantime I'm also working on walking the land (the web) connecting every single mention of Hallam Foe! Have a look at how far I've got over at del.icio.us. Not very far admittedly, but feel free send me you links at londonfilmgeek {a} gmail.com or tag links getyourpeople on your own del.icio.us accounts and leave me a comment below.
And if it's all just a bit too sunny for you here in Croatia. Edinburgh's Just around the corner, where we might have some more interesting things afoot.

First photo of 2007
Well I feel like I've been a bit slack so far this year, so far as the blog is concerned. My apologies to you all for that. I have been busy trying to get other things up and running.
I have, however, found time to search out another cool pic of Jamie Bell in full Hallam Foe guise.
For your delectation...

Hallam Foe - some people see life differently
'some people see life differently' is currently the tagline we are going with for the poster. What do you think?
I personally think it's pretty good, short, succinct, accurate, a touch of the voyeur vibe but without the perversity normally associated and a definite feeling of a man at odds with the world he lives in.
Now I come to think of it, it may well be perfect.
We'd love to know what you think though.

Ewen & Jamie
Another photo from our time in Edinburgh today.

Andy (Ewen Bremner) and Hallam Foe (Jamie Bell)
This shot was taken on April 18th, the day Angus (Associate Producer) Pigott posted his Producer's Update. Sophia had also been with us for a week so the production was getting pretty settled in Edinburgh.
Here are the posts from that day:

Duet
Todays shot is of Verity and Julius plaing a duet on the old joanna. Simple enough to achieve at first glance but we actually went to a lot of effort to get this just right. For a good month before hand I was liasing with Matt Biffa to find the kind of music that David Mackenzie was after for the scene.

Verity (Claire Forlani) and Julius Foe (Ciaran Hinds)
After the exhaustive search there was a good deal of serious practical stuff to overcome too (the first bit of music we got hold of was a duet alright, but for two pianos, not just two people.)

Kate Breck
Today's photo is of Sophia Myles in character as Kate Breck.

Sophia Myles as Kate Breck in Hallam Foe
The photo was taken on 2nd May, unfortunately there is nothing to link to from that day as it was the day after I broke my arm and I was feeling more than a little sorry for myself not to mention fairly zoned out with pain.
However we were in the transition from Edinburgh to our studio (giant engineering shed) in Renfrew on the outskirts of Glasgow.

The Sniffles?
It seems that nearly everyone I know is beginning to be touched by that pre-Christmas bug - no doubt a combination of weather and the seasonal increase in intimacy. So todays shot is reminiscent of the sniffles, the common cold, or man-flu.
The day this was taken we were in the throes of becoming ensconced at Glen House (aka Chanby Hall), the crew were finding their rhythm and beginning to get into the swing of things. I remember it as being quite a tough time: communication being one of the toughest aspects of working there, 3 phone lines for a team of around 80 people all used to the convenience of having their own phone available for use without interruption.

Claire Forlani
Claire plays Verity Foe in the movie, Hallam's stepmother and a figure of desire and hatred in equal measure for Hallam.
The day we shot this David Mackenzie's first post for the blog was published. If you are new to the blog this makes essential reading. He lays out why he wanted a blog and the parameters within which we have to operate.
...the whole infrastructure of financing, casting and crewing a film is in incredibly delicate thing. In my ideal world I would like to blog about the crazy adventures that have taken us to the point of being about to shoot Hallam Foe...Hallam Foe, a film by David Mackenzie starring Jamie BellPosted by colin kennedy at 3:50 PM | Comments (2) | TrackBack

Who's the Daddy?
The daddy is Mr. Ciaran Hinds. Ciaran plays Julius Foe, father to Hallam Foe (Jamie Bell).
I've recently seen Ciaran in a couple of films, notably Munich which I mentioned in a blog not so long ago.
The photo featured today was taken on April 10th, which as you will see had a lot going on - Unit move, snow, treehouse action and our very own new sign...

Link to the past
This is one of my favourite shots of Hallam. It just feels so evocative of the character, I think it's great.
This shot was taken on the 19th of April, an auspicious day for me. April 19th was my first day of acting in the film. For those of you who don't know I play a featured extra in the film, Arty Guy.

Daily photo
I am going to renege on my pledge to post 3 photos today, it's getting late and I need to get out the office. Two will have to do.
Jamie and David planning a shot on the roof of the City ChambersThis one was taken on the 26th of April. This was a hectic day indeed. As well as shooting on the roof of the City Chambers in Edinburgh we were also preparing to shoot on the North Bridge with a mega rain rig.
There will be more shots tomorrow...

Oops
Unforeseeable problems led to me not posting a photo yesterday. Many apologies. To make up for it, I'll post 3 today.
So here's the first.
Jamie Bell as Hallam Foe on Princes St in EdinburghAccording to my sources this photo was taken at 25 past 8 on April the 11th, so I thought I'd link back to that day to see what happened on the blog. It strikes me that this might be a good way of introducing people who are new to the blog to the archive. So with every photo I post I'll also put in a link to that day of the shoot.
Idea good/bad? Whaddaya think?

Daily photo
The third shot of the inaugural day of 'the daily photo release' is one of Ewen Bremner. Ewen brings a brilliant performance to the character of Andy in the film, always a highlight in any film as fans of Ewens' will already know.

Seeing as this is the first day of having the photos I thought I'd give you more than one. Just consider an act of great generosity on my part.
We have been somewhat starved of images of Sophia Myles. Sophia plays the love interest in Hallam Foe, Kate Breck. She has a MySpace page too, cool lady I have to say.

They're here...
All the photos have been cleared and are here. What's more, there's a lot of them.
The idea I have is that I will post a new shot of someone from our cast everyday and more than that as we get closer to the release date of the film. I like the fact that this will give us something new for the blog on a daily basis and something that is genuinely fan related as opposed to being aimed more at people interested in the process of making and releasing films.
Alrighty then, here's the first one:
