Monday 3rd December 2007

Not the catchiest of titles for this post, forgive me, it's Monday morning.

Here comes the update, not exactly hot off the press, more like news that's been festering for a week...

Hallam Foe

Follow the link below to some photos of the team at the BAFTA's and BIFA's. Both sets of awards have been limited in their fruits, we picked up the controversial Best Actress at the BAFTA's (a one horse race):

"there was little surprise when Sophia Myles was named best actress for her performance in Hallam Foe - as she was the only nomination in the category." The Scotsman

and shared Best Short with Warp Films for Dog Altogether which we co-produced and was directed by Paddy Considine.

Rounding Up Donkeys

Rounding Up Donkeys is currently in the casting phase, so there isn't a great deal I can say about it at the moment.

I Love Luci

It has been a positive week for my short film having garnered more support from those that have read the script. I have appointed a producer too this week so things should start to move a little faster.

I am currently working on another draft of the script and starting to hone the casting ideas. Incidentally, I am looking for an actress in their mid-thirties who is missing their front four teeth, so if anyone knows anyone or has some useful make-up tips on how to create these effects then I'd dearly love to hear from them.

See y'all next Monday.

Comments

People appear to be having trouble leaving comments on the site. This comment is a test to see if the typekey authentication thingy works.

Basically I get a lot of junk sent to the site and it takes up a lot of time so if you want to comment I'm afraid I have to ask you to sign up to TypeKey if you want to leave a comment.

There is one major benefit to this, your comment should show up instantly rather than having to go through me as a moderator. So you can publish anything you like without fear of me tinkering with it before hand!

I hope this works and isn't too inconvenient, it shouldn't take up much time and you only have to do it once.

Many thanks,

ck

Oh yes... A couple of my last comments eventually didn't appear. Again. Damn. I've written such a long comment on what happens to your script after you've lost the competiotion. I'm missing that comment, honestly. Let's hope that this rime the typekey thingy will work....

Well let's try again. I'm keen on making this typekey stuff work...

Posted by: helge at December 3, 2007 6:21 PM

Hi Helge, well your comments made it into the junk section. Fat lot of use that is. For some reason you still haven't appeared in my list of trusted commenters so that's what I'm going to check out next.

Same for anyone else that is trying to leave comments.

If things aren't working for you then you can also email me, contact details are on the about page

Hi Colin,
just wanted to check out if I'd already appeared in your list.
I'm glad to hear that at least my comments made it into the junk section without your help.
I always get worried that I might have written something awful and my comment was regarded as malicious or somth like that.

testing again-not certain if my comment about mr. herzog went thru, dang.

The video of the Bafta Scotlands was good-they did a nice job accepting for Sophia. Was very disappointed in the Bifas though; Jamie totally should have won-Viggo (who I normally like) was NOT better than than Jamie, just no way.

Huzzah it worked!
I forgot the link to the BAFTA Scotland awards in case yall want to watch it

(I would say something about the accents sometimes being hard to understand, but people feel the same when they listen to my Southern drawl that pops out now and then which is way worse lol)

Colin! Thanks for the updates on the other films, but what about that competiton for your script? Any word yet? and are we going to get more of a preview about the plot?

Posted by: Sue [TypeKey Profile Page] at December 5, 2007 3:07 PM

No word on the competition yet. We'll see what happens, I should hear this week I think, but I'm not hopeful to be honest. I think the script is pretty good now, it's been through several drafts since I submitted it to the competition and that seems to have honed it considerably.

We'll just have to wait and see what happens.
