Gongs Galore

awardsident_000.jpg

It would seem my spy at the Scottish BAFTA's has only just shrugged off their hangover. Straight from the horses mouth...

Sunday night was Scottish Bafta night and Sigma had a particularly vested
interest this year.

Red Road, the first of the 'Advance Party' scheme, was up
for 5 Baftas (Best Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor and Best
Actress)
, and Anna Duffields film Trout was up for best Short.

The great and the good turned up at The City Halls for a more glam evening than
previous years, this being the first ceremony to be televised and
have a main sponsor, namely, Lloyds TSB.

The Red Carpet was buzzing even though the Glasgow rain came down and the
celebs were out in force, including Robbie Coltrane, Billy Boyd, Greg Wise,
Dawn Steele and not to mention our own Alastair Mackenzie.

Sigma was represented by Gillian, David, Alastair, Anna, and myself and
Kahleen was there from Hamilton and Crawford.

The order of events was the awards ceremony in the City Halls followed by
Dinner and dancing in the old Fruitmarket. The Film category kicked off
proceedings and before we'd had time to blink we'd won the first 5 awards of
the night......totally deserving you understand but almost embarrassing. The
lovely Kate Dickie was here to collect her gong and Nicholas the films'
editor picked up one for Andrea Arnold who couldn't make it. After that we
sat through the rest of the ceremony enjoying the presentations even though
our stomachs were beginning to rumble and the first few glasses of wine were
starting to wear off.

Eventually everyone poured out into the fruitmarket where we chucked down
some fairly unappetising dinner and proceeded to celebrate in style, in fact
so much style that unfortunately I'm going to have to stop writing here as I
can't remember anything else.............

Thanks Angus, if anything else springs to mind you know where we are...

Oh yeah, here's a shot of the gals:

Great pics, esp for us Monarch fans- woot! Too bad there were none of David alas; I guess he's still off working on the audio?

btw... if those three are the Witches, does that make you or Angus the Jack Nicholson character? :P
