Pick-ups in Edinburgh

The rickshaw dolly in action

Last night we were on the streets of Edinburgh, guerilla style-ee with rickshaw dolly and steadycam. I'd never seen this piece of kit in action before. It allowed us to really get some speed into the steadicam without having to use something like a quadbike which would have been a much bigger deal than our setup. It does require some manpower though, as I'm sure Angus and the grips would be happy to tell you!

The aim of the pick-ups / re-shoots in Edinburgh were to get alternative shots for the ending of the film.

Here are some snaps of us on the street:

goodness, that is one sweaty snackman you got there... was he running along behind the fast-moving dolly "you forgot your ginger"?

On a technical point, I just started looking at the blog direct (instead of via bloglines) and I get an annoying quicktime thing appearing every time I return to the main page. Any reason/ way of fixing?

On a marketing thing - is there any likely hood of a reissue of the novel with Jamie/ the film poster graphic/tagline/ "now a major motion picture by the acclaimed director of Young Adam" on the front? (as happened with trainspotting)...

Not sure why you're getting the irritating Q sign, how fast is your connection? It should mean you're downloading the QT movies that I have started putting on the site. We figure that since we're making a film we should have plenty of video content. But I can change the way that comes up on the site if it's bugging people trying to download the page?

As for the book, I think that one's in the hands of Peter and his publishers.

And yes, Marc is one sweaty snackman, but that's because he works so hard.
